Play Ball

Alright maybe I’m not the brightest bulb in the universe but I do know that the major reason that kids in this nation are getting bigger and bigger around the waist band is that they are no longer going out and playing outside. Ok I admit I did once in a while chose not to go outside on a nice day to play basketball or touch football and instead played on my friends Xbox until my head hurt from staring at the screen for to long. But I played organized sports all year long so I could get away with staying inside once in a while. After seeing this story I have come to a conclusion that Americans hate to see kids taking the intiative in them having fun.

My friends and I always had plans to build things we could use for our own entertainment, but we either never got started or if we couldn’t build it in two days we went on to do something else. These kids, however, built a legit wiffle ball field in an empty lot using building material that would give Tim Taylor trouble. All their hard work was for nothing as bitter neighbors continually called the police and even threatened to sue the town if they did not do anything to stop these kids from having FUN. This is sad and pathetic and is a perfict example of the direction the majority of the country is headed. The neighbhors complaints included kids playing until past nine at night, more then fifty kids playing at one time, and a noise and privacy concern. What a load of B.S. if fifty kids in my town growing up got a wiffle ball tournament going down at the local little league field I would have been down there in a heart beat. I did not have an opportunity like these kids and it pisses me off that there are people out there that would take an opportunity for these kids to play and have fun being kids without being supervised by adults.

The town to there credit did try to compromise allowing the kids to play at a old school baseball field. The great thinkers in the town though either forgot or did not do their research about the surrounding area of the field. In the middle of the parking lot next to the field is a trailer with a health warning about aesbestos. Does this town get what they are doing. These kids are not stupid many of them after reading the sign said that there is no way that they are going to play near that trailer. I don’t blame them for their reasoning. These kids did something that fewer and fewer kids are doing in our country play outdoors.

If the kids in my neighborhood wanted to play wiffleball in the empty lot next to my house I wouldn’t say a word as a matter of fact I would enjoy watching the kids enjoy themselves playing outside and away from the T.V. and game consoles which control our entertainment now. I salute these kids for taking it upon themselves to improve the area in which they played their hearts out. Our country needs more kids like these if we are to become a nation in which all others envy around the world but for now we’ll just have to watch as the nations youth’s waistlines keep bulging more each year.

The Reconquista

The issue of Illegal immigration does not only include Hispanics coming across the Mexican border as many Americans believe. There are thousands of Illegal immigrants who pour into this country from Southeast Asia, China, and Europe but these illegals are not looking for benefits like those who come across the southern border. Over the past few years states controlled mainly by the left have begun to fund programs allowing Illegal immigrants to attend state schools for free, apply for health care and welfare. But these programs were aimed at gaining the support of the illegal immigrants from Hispanic nations because many of the Politicians believe it will help them in their re-election bids. This is sad, pathetic, and straight un-American.

Some on the left who know there political history have called the right hypocrites because President Reagan had given amnesty to some 8 million illegal immigrants during his term as president. What these liberals have forgotten to mention is that President Reagan after leaving office when asked his greatest regret he replied giving amnesty to illegal immigrants. Now President Bush and other Republicans are about to repeat history with his proposed guest worker program. Why do these politicians insist upon giving people who have broken our laws a pardon? They see new voters which if they are the ones who pass the amnesty will get a new and powerful constituency which will almost guarantee that the keep their elected office and go as far as to create a one party system in this nation. This is a frightening scenario but one which could not be too far off.

There is another scenario which is more frightening and could mark the beginning of the end of the United States. The re-conquista or re-conquering of the southwest U.S. It is a small but growing movement whose creators are unknown but are believed to be the organized drug lords of Mexico. They wish the Southwest U.S. fall back into the hands of Mexico not so that Mexico could become a "superpower" but so that they could control more areas. They use propaganda such as the U.S. stole the land from Mexico and the U.S. has "enslaved" the Hispanic communities within these states. This of course is ridiculous but like history has showed us you have enough people repeating a lie that eventually it becomes truth. The Nazi's in Germany, the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, The MSM on Vietnam and Iraq. I am fearful that if we do not deal with the aggressive illegal immigrants that they may want to become a part of their mother nation. If we do not deal with this problem now it may be too late for the United States.

I do not say this as xenophobe I am myself a son of a proud immigrant mother whose loyalty to this nation exceeds that of her nation of birth. This nation better wake up and distinguish those immigrants who are here to make this nation better and those who are here to create a new weaker United States.

Little About Myself

My name is Steven Barton I graduated recently from the Governor's Academy a small boarding school north of Boston, Ma and I'm about to entermy frshman year at The Citade better known as "Knob" year. I plan on joining the navy upon graduation and pursuing an opportunity to attend BUD/s training.

I have always been interested in politics but I never really knew how they worked or what it meant to havea policy on a issue. In 2004 when my father ran un-succesfully for the Massachusetts 6th district seat against ultra liberal rep. John Tierney (D) I saw that todays politics is not what you believed or how much integrity you have rather it is based off of how much money you can bring in. This has truly troubled me over the last few years. I hope to make this blog a space which those people who do not have integrity or honor fear. I will try with all my power to expose them and hopefully I will help do my little part to help clean up the Capitol.

I know that not everyone who reads what I have to write will agree and I hope that is the case. If you agree or disagree I want to hear wht you have to say.
